Beginning in the vibrant city of Newcastle and finishing in Edinburgh, the beautiful Scottish capital, this stunning cycle route takes in miles of dramatic clifftops and a wealth of historical intrigue. The coastline of Northumberland and the Scottish Borders is littered with ancient settlements, abbeys, watch towers and imposing castles dating back as far as the 13th century, all of which can be explored on this amazing cycling trip, adapted from the official Sustrans Coast and Castles cycle route.

• About 1750 metres of climbing and descending
